Valentines Project

Working with my son’s class on a Valentine’s Heart Box. I found well priced 4.5 paper mache heart boxes at http://www.consumercrafts.com/store/details/catalog/basics-paper-mache-boxes/2833-32. I first painted the boxes with Gesso so the acrylic paint would show nice and bright. Next the kids painted the boxes with acrylic paint and Friday we’ll decorate using glitter glue, gems, some sculpey clay roses I made and ribbon. I’ll help to hot glue ribbons or roses but the kids will use glue dots, Elmers and adhesive gems for the rest.

Here are 2 samples I made for the kids to look at. I cut out the paper hearts with my Cricut. This wold look really pretty with mod podge too but I don’t want to make this too involved for the kids.
